Stay Informed! Subscribe to the MEEOA Listserv

A listserv is a mailing list comprised of individuals who share a common interest. A person who is subscribed to the listserv can send a single message to the listserv's address, and the message is automatically distributed to all other subscribers! It's a simple way to keep a large group of people well informed, or share information and ideas.

MEEOA sponsors a listserv called MEEOA-L which operates from the University of Maine's mainframe system. The MEEOA Technology Committee Chair takes responsibility for the management of the listserv.

Instructions for subscribing:

1. Send a message to listserv@lists.maine.edu

2. Leave the subject of the message blank

3. In the message body, write:
   
   subscribe MEEOA-L YourFirstName YourLastName
   
   (remember to use your name!)
   

4. You'll receive a message asking you to confirm.

5. To confirm, simply reply to the message with the word ok and nothing else!

Instructions for sending messages:

1. Once you're successfully subscribed,

2. Create a blank message, add a subject

3. Address the message to
   
   MEEOA-L@LISTS.MAINE.EDU
   

4. Compose your message in the usual way

5. Make sure you include your name & email address at the bottom

6. Send in the usual way, and it will be distributed.

1. Send a message to
   
   listserv@list.maine.edu
   

2. Leave the subject of the message blank

3. In the message body, write:
   
   unsub MEEOA-L
   

4. You'll receive further instructions, or a confirmation.
